I love, love PLAID! I remembered the first time I fell in love with this beautiful checkered pattern and it was the first time I saw the movie Clueless. I loved that the girls wore several plaid patterns and colors. Obviously, red is the most traditional and probably the most sought after, but this pattern is beautiful in every color. It’s a timeless trend, something you can purchase for your wardrobe and seek each and every year. I find I wear mine mostly in the fall and winter but you can make this work for any time of the year.

An example would be pink plaid in the spring and blue plaid for summer. My favorite is green for Christmas. Each year designers find new ways to mix up the plaid. This year it seems to be with other patterns like roses or leopard print. Pictured you’ll see my shirt is slightly sheer and lightweight. Its been my favorite plaid style thus far. I also like it with ruffles and I’m currently looking for that.

Probably the second favorite thing I love about plaid is how versatile and stylish it is with other pieces. Instead of just wearing a red plaid shirt and leggings, I decided to style it with a leather jacket and fur vest. Two other timeless pieces. Don’t be afraid to layer your clothes, especially during the fall and winter months when it’s actually functional to keep warm. I’ve worn this outfit with leggings and leather pants and I like them both.
